Eden Workshops - A Bookbinders Resource. Here you will find free tutorials, learn at home DVD's, equipment and materials.

:new: I just uploaded a video on Vimeo that demonstrates how I sew my book!!
It's uploading / converting at the moment, but go watch it when you can if you need some clarification *that I hope* I'm able to make here.

It will be available here

Here's a place to learn how to make your own book.

Completed books (mine and others!)

moved them! [link]

Questions I've answered:

q Does any needle work?
a Yes, so long as the thread fits. The holes in the book are made with the awl so the needle is only to guide the thread.

q How long does the thread need to be?
a I'm not sure, I just use about 2 feet and tie more on (between holes on the spine) if I run out.

I spent years working for a nonprofit that made children's books (so I got a good idea from that) and watching many many tutorials. I basically took everything I knew and made the most practical book I could :D

How long have you been making books?

I started making books like the tutorial one since January.
Thank you! :)

Very nice! How do you like it? It's a shame that I live in a place that doesn't put very much value on craftsmanship. :(

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly do you do?

There is nothing that I have been able to find. I live in the US, people only care about antiques and brand-new manufactured goods with only a small percentage of people who like handcrafted goods.
